Gatineau Park: An Intimate Portrait
Quebec’s Gatineau Park is an oasis of wilderness on the doorstep of Canada’s national capital. In this book, J. David Andrews shares with us his vision of the Park, one that is both subtle and spectacular. His photographs evoke a sense of wonder and an appreciation of the extraordinary beauty of the natural world. Interspersed among the photographs are a collection of paintings by renowned Canadian wildlife painter Brenda Carter. Complementing the two artists work are chapters devoted to the natural and human history of the Park - richly illustrated with stories of the past, archival photographs and drawings.
The book features an eloquent foreword by Canadian photographer Freeman Patterson.

Posters (Lithographic prints if you prefer)
These posters, featuring two of David’s favourite images of Gatineau Park, are available in very limited quantities. Upon viewing the poster on the right, a surprising number of people assume that the image of a misty, green forest has been digitally manipulated. It was shot on Kodachrome film, which has a reputation for colour accuracy, and David went to considerable effort to maintain colour accuracy throughout the printing process. The poster illustrates how the forest looked the day the photograph was taken.
